Don't let this fancy program scare
you off too easily, its actually a really great and
really easy program to use once you get the hang of
it.
In order to edit your web template
you will need to open Dreamweaver. Once you have that
open, at the top there is a Menu, in that Menu you
will find the "Site" tab. Click that, then "New
Site". Go ahead and give it a name, something
you will use just to remember it by. Then where it
says
"Local Root Folder", click the browse button
and find the location of your index.html file for your
web template. If you are going to publish your design
to the internet, you can set up the information to
connecting to your web host from the menu on the left,
the second option "Remote Information". Otherwise
click OK!
This is your site, you can change
any of the text to reflect your needs. You can change
the link titles by clicking on them and typing in your
link name. If you need to change the link url simply
click on the link and in the properties box you will
be able to change where that link will lead to. You
can add images by going to "Insert", "images".
Once you have the general idea of
your website in place you can then begin creating the
addtional pages. Save the index.html file. Right click
on it,
"copy", "paste", right click, "rename",
then rename the file to match one of your navigational
links.
As you can see, using Dreamweaver
is pretty simple, especially once you get used to it.
